- Do you have a collection? Or would you like to have one? Write about your collection. What is it? Why did you start it? Why is it important to you? Where do you keep it? What is missing from your collection?
- Fustlings – Draw a picture of what you think a Fustling looks like. What are some of the things a fustiling might make a person say?
- Where are all of the places Esme lived? Find them on a map. Name each one. What continent are they on? Find out 3 facts about each country.
- Esme’s dad has rules for everything. On page 24 he says “ rules are fun-da-men-tal because when things start to go wrong you can always count on rules to save you.” Does your family have rules? What are they? Why do you have them? Would you add any rules to your family?
- Esme’s class thought of many ideas to help the soldiers. Think of some ideas yourself, or with a group. Be specific. What exactly would you do? How would you organize it? What is your goal? How do you think you could help the soliders?
- How many hours is 100 days and 99 nights? How many minutes? How many seconds?
